This week, Apple updated its suite of iWork apps for both iOS and macOS. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are now in version 11.0, and while the changes aren't dramatic, there are some small quality-of-life tweaks here.
Features are subject to change. IWork for iCloud is currently available worldwide in Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and U.S. English and requires an iCloud account and an internet. - Another bit or byte of information I got was iWork 11 is going to be 'cloud computing' aware and that you could use Apple services to put all you iWork 11 related documents 'in the cloud'. Since Apple hasn't officially release 'cloud computing' services, this might also be the reason for the delay in iWork 11.
- Mar 29, 2021 For when your documents need just a little more oomph, Apple has taken all three of its iWork apps to 11, introducing a new media browser with enhanced search options and new content categories such as Recents, Portraits, and Live Photos.
Numbers has one minor, app-specific change: you can now exclude the summary worksheet when you export your spreadsheet to Excel.
AdvertisementHere are all the changes that apply to every iOS iWork App, per Apple's release notes:
- Precise editing controls in the Arrange Inspector for adjusting the look and placement of objects
- On-screen keypads for entering exact values for text size, spacing, table size, and more
- Ability to add or remove objects or table cells from a selection by tapping or dragging across them
- Setting to always open spreadsheets in edit mode
- Ability to add phone number links to table cells, text objects, and shapes
On the Mac, all apps gained an improved media browser, phone number link support, and 'AppleScript functionality to change a spreadsheet password or open password-protected spreadsheets.'
Additionally, Keynote now offers the ability to view presenter notes and the next slide 'in a separate window while presenting.' Here are Apple's release notes for iWork Mac apps:
- Updated media browser offers enhanced search options and new content categories such as Recents, Portraits, and Live Photos
- Ability to add phone number links to table cells, text objects, and shapes
- AppleScript functionality to change a spreadsheet password or open password-protected spreadsheets
Updates for each of these apps are available to download from the App Store to all Mac and iOS users today.

Iwork 11 Dimensions
I've just read that Apple has launched iLife '11. I'm a student and need to prepare presentations and write essays a lot! I was thinking of a few things and wanted to know if you guys can help me out:
1) Should I buy iWork or Office?
2) If I buy iWork now, what happens if Apple launches iWork '11 soon?
3) Microsoft has an offer that if I buy Office '08 before the 30th of November, I get a free upgrade to Office '11. Will this really work?
(Office for Mac)
4) With my students discount, I can buy iWork '09 today at a price of £35 whereas Office '08 costs me £99.
P.S: Microsoft has just launched Office '11 at a price of £109!
Please Help.
