Mac Wired Keyboard

The Magic Keyboard is a wireless, rechargeable keyboard that comes included with most Mac computers. However, those of us who are on old Macs or want a new keyboard, the small Magic keyboard might. The Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard is compatible with Mac OS X all the way back to version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). If you’re running legacy software on older systems, this can be a lifesaver. The first and most obvious is that a Mac keyboard doesn't have a Windows key. More accurately, it doesn't have a key with the Windows symbol on it, but the one marked command or cmd acts as one. The Matias Wired Keyboard for Mac is for people who miss Apple's wired USB keyboard. Many people still like the reliability of a traditional USB 2.0 connection with a two port USB 2.0 hub and numeric keypad. This keyboard by Matias has all the special Mac functionality you expect on the function keys. The keyboard has.

The Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard for Mac has a beautiful silver aluminum case with traditional white keycaps, just like you remember. It brings you the 2 port USB 2.0 hub that you have always found useful, as well as the special Mac functions that you know and like. It has Matias scissor switches for a slim and comfortable typing experience.

Beautiful aluminum design
with numeric keypad.

Modeled after Apple’s iconic aluminum keyboards, the Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard looks & feels just as nice as the Apple originals — in Silver or Space Gray.

Mouse-friendly (2-port) USB 2.0 hub.

The built-in hub is great for connecting your favourite wired mouse (or wireless dongle) with a 2nd port available for plugging in flash drives, or other devices.

USB-C in the box.

For Mac users who may only have USB-C ports, we include an adapter free in the box.

High precision volume dial.

Perfect for users with external speakers, the volume dial gives you MUCH finer volume control than you get from pressing volume keys — though it has those too.

Specifically, the dial offers 64 volume levels, vs. 16 levels for the volume keys — 4x more precise.

Mac-friendly function keys.

Just like an Apple keyboard, the function keys let you control screen brightness, volume, iTunes, and more.

There’s even an Fn key, that lets you momentarily change the function keys back to their traditional duties, when you need them.

Legacy Mac OS support.

The Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard is compatible with Mac OS X all the way back to version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

Mac wired keyboard and mouse

My 2015 MacBook Pro no longer recognizes my Apple Wired USB Extended Keyboard after upgrading to Catalina 10.15.4.

But the weird (and maddening) thing is that if I plug a USB hub into my MacBook and then plug the keyboard into the hub, it works.

I have restarted several times and reset the NVRAM and SMC. Nothing has worked.

So what is the issue, If you have it working (?)
